			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The deployment of contactless cards will continue in the UK, according to APACS.</p>
<p>According to an article in ITPro, there are 337,000 cards enabled for contactless payment technology in the UK. Most of the cards are in London and the South East where Barclaycard®, Mastercard®, Visa® and Transport for London have held trials.</p>
<p>It said that 6,000 merchants now have contactless payment enabled point of sale terminals as well. Near field communication (NFC) is also on the horizon after being in use at London Fashion Week.</p>
